A user of Citizen Shipper recently had this to say about their experience shipping a refrigerator:

“Before I used your service, I called around and recieved higher quotes for the job. Then I chose one vendor who promised to come, kept calling and saying he was running late and in the end, never showed up! I found “My Citizen Shopper” on line at a time when I was getting pretty desperate. I needed to have a refrigerator taken from my garage to my son-in-law and daughter’s home about 20 miles away. And, I had about one day to get the job done! Unbelievably, the contractor who answered the ad was accepting my price (lower than what others quoted) and gave me a one hour window of when he could pick up the merchandise. Not only was he on time from start to finish but, he was obviously experienced and careful with the refrigerator. One company told me they could deliver it but, would not be able to bring it inside the house! But the “My CitizenShipper” contractor brought it in to the exact location it was needed in and hooked it up for us. He and his helper were awesome! I will definitely use this service again if I need a pickup and/or delivery! I am glad to know this service exists! ”

For cheap door shipping visit CitizenShipper now!

Doors are important parts of the identity of a house and often the first signs that signify “home” to people living behind it. So it is quite understandable if while moving from your ancestral hearth you wish to haul the Burma teak door to your new home. But if you’re worried about door shipping from Kansas to Minnesota, don’t be – there are many carriers and transporters who would transport your precious “door” to its new destination in mint fresh condition.

Whether you have a wooden paneled door, a flush door or a French Door or window as they are called, for calculating door shipping charges you will have to first know its exact measurements and the weight of the material per square feet. It is however easy to understand that hollow metal doors, hollow core doors, solid core doors and mineral core ones all will have different weights. Oak doors and Birch doors have been found to have the highest poundage per square feet. Moulded doors again have totally different weightage criteria.

But the most heavyweight of all doors are the vault doors which are prepared from solid steel for both private and corporate use. These steel doors are capable of withstanding great pressure but nevertheless present a challenge while door shipping.

Preparing your wooden doors for shipping require careful consideration. The door has to be first unhinged, cleaned and buffed if possible. Then it is best to crate it or better still to use corrugated cardboard. After taping the package with Nylon reinforced filament tape, you can allow it to be loaded. However for other doors it is best to use proper sized crates. It is in the best interests of the owners not to scrimp on this count.

While choosing a transporter for your door shipping needs, look for someone with proper insurance coverage, experience in transporting doors and detailed safety procedures in place. If the door shipping is not going to be for a longer distance you can opt for an open trailer, provided you’ve packed your door well. However in cases where the door might have some antique value, is high priced or has sentimental attachment with the owner, it is preferable to use a closed container trailer or pickup.

If you want economical, efficient and prompt door shipping, look for peer to peer shipping. The carriers are mostly private people with proper vehicles for such deliveries. They are verified by the online peer to peer websites which act as a go between drivers and people in need of shipping things. There is also a third party insurance coverage, which takes care of all damages in transit door shipping. These drivers can provide such economy in transportation because they do not have to deviate from their own routes to make such deliveries and earning some extra bucks. It is also a highly environment friendly way of shipping as it uses no extra fossil fuel for the delivery, making it a clean, “green”, safe and economical proposition.

To find CHEAP and Reliable Shipping Services Click Here Now!

Christmas is the time to celebrate by giving. The deeper the bond, the more the heart wishes to give. Since childhood and its innocence are the greatest revelers in this Festival of Love and Lights – the children are receivers of the maximum number of gifts. While the superior “technology” of Santa Clause has always permitted him to pack even the most unwieldy gifts in his sack, Mr. Clause seems to have only recently realized that shipping large and bulky toys in time for Christmas are best left to professionals. Nowadays parents leave no stones unturned to see their little princes and princesses happy. If that means buying them Christmas gifts like battery powered cars and motorcycles for their preteen to teenage young guns and life size dolls’ houses and Wendy houses for their young princesses – they seem quite game for it – provided they can afford the space and the dollars. Even toddlers, the apples of their parent’s eye, get gifts like see-saws, swings, slides, play tunnels etc. These are usually pretty large and bulky toys and when the father living in Idaho wants to send one to his “little sweetheart” in Tennessee, it can seem a daunting task, right? Well, yes, and no! It all depends on his choice of transporter.

Although most transporters actually dismantle and wrap all shipped materials themselves, it is infinitely better to wrap the gift and provide it enough cover to survive the trip by road. It allows the gift to be personalized even in its packing. Toys shipping across US have been done in various ways the most important being through peer-to peer shipping. But there are some preparations required. The first being in the packing. For toys like see-saws, slides and swings, the parts which can move and be detached, should be separated from the main frame. Each component should be ideally wrapped in bubble sheets, covered in corrugated craft paper or cardboard. Then it should be put into a crate which should be packed with fillers like polystyrene “peanuts”. For other toys similar process may be observed. The individual components of each playhouse may be cleaned and packed in double sheets of bubble wrap and then taped and palletized for shipping. The filling up may be done by the same products.

But while looking for such a gift, it is imperative to find a shipper who knows his business inside out and can accommodate the delivery of the parcel even in these busy times. Peer to peer shipping not only offers a cheap and effective alternative to the regular modes, but its eco-friendly too. Peer to peer shipping firms unite people who are in need of toys shipping with drivers who are going in that same direction. Instead of spending heavy fees for toys shipping costs, people bargain shipping costs depending on each individual case. This is a complete win-win proposal where the drivers earn some extra cash, while the gifts are delivered within time at the lowest possible rate. The method is also eco-friendly because it burns lesser fossil fuel, which means lesser amount of dangerous emissions. So this Christmas, gift your loved ones their desired presents and wrap it in green!

For cheap drum shipping visit Citizenshipper.com today!

It’s party time, folks! It’s that time of the year again, when you let your hair down with music that moves and grooves! This is also the time for bands and gigging musicians to criss-cross the country to play to all the party animals out there! This is also the time when young budding drummers hope that their dream drum kits will be there in Santa’s sack of gifts! So for all those musicians both new and old, drum shipping becomes important to gain access to their drum kits right when they need it. Often it happens that drummers could need a replacement for their sets in a hurry too – Alex Jones, a drummer to a student band from Nebraska would tell you.

Alex was playing at a Christmas college fest in Georgia when suddenly his bass drum which was an essential part of his four piece drum kit (cymbals are not counted by the drummers among the sets), became incapacitated! He was furious; he had not brought his spare ones with him! He needed them immediately, but how would he get them? Finally someone from his own college contacted a peer to peer shipping company enlisted the services of “Josh”, a musician himself coming home to Georgia from Nebraska where he worked. “Josh” saved Alex’s day by drum shipping to him with the same care that Alex would take to transport them – in the process earning a few dollars for travelling the same distance that he would any way have done! What a win –win situation for all! Alex got his drum shipping done without having to wait for larger shipping companies and that too his precious drums being in the care of a person who understood their value to Alex. Moreover it was great for the environment too, because there was no additional fossil fuels burnt for the delivery! Not only Alex, but lots of people are nowadays opting for peer to peer shipping because it allows them to save on their shipping bills as well as ensure that they get a more personalized care for their loads, and contribute meaningfully and responsibly to the ecological conservation movement.

When drum shipping over larger distances, it is necessary to invest in drum cases manufactured from high abrasion defiant polyester and dual foam stuffing with non-grazing synthetic high absorption fleece coupled with strong nylon zips and threads. Cymbals also have special cases that provide cover to each piece separately; these are sometimes also provided with back straps for easy carriage. Nowadays, however all cases are provided with castor wheels that provides mobility for even the heaviest cases. It is also necessary to remember to stack these drums properly to maintain balance and create space for all pieces. Although most drummers prefer to carry replacements with them, they often need shipping of separate drum pieces, in such situations peer to peer shipping is extremely useful.

Christmas is just round the corner and Mr. Smith of Wisconsin wants to send his son in South Carolina a Christmas tree. But all shipping schedules have been filled up in this season of giving and receiving gifts! He is very disappointed, but then he perks up when he learns that he can after all send his lonely son a piece of home, celebration and joyous love that signifies this Festival of Holy Love! Want to know his secret? ….Read on!

Christmas trees have always been a symbol of the everlasting life and bliss that the Christ promised his followers. Every one of us must remember what it felt like to wake up on the Christmas morning and see those gifts arranged by “Santa” underneath a beautifully decorated Christmas tree! It is this very feeling that people want to communicate to their loved ones. Whether they choose a real tree or a fake plastic one, whether they come decorated or separately with the decorations to ship a Christmas tree is a challenge. Experienced shippers use boxes that are specially reinforced with fasteners inside to keep the tree in place so that friction due to movement does not harm the tree. These boxes also have a built in moisture locking system to help preserve the freshness of the tree.

But sometimes both buyers and shippers are unaware that Christmas trees are regulated objects as such in US states. The gypsy moth quarantine does not allow many of the states to ship Christmas trees from other states. It is necessary to obtain a certificate of health from the proper authorities after extensive inspection ensuring that the tree is free from every metamorphosis stage of gypsy moth or some other regulated pests. Many different and complicated rules are applicable to the situation where you might ship Christmas trees, depending upon the point of origin of the tree, the variety of tree, the destination point to which it will be transported. So whenever you want to ship Christmas trees please get a certificate of health from the proper authorities to avoid hassles and disappointment of watching your tree go up in smoke.

Well, coming back to Mr. Smith, he had found economical, efficient and fast way of shipping a Christmas tree to his son – he had found out about peer to peer shipping of Christmas trees. Through a environmentally conscious peer to peer shipping website, he got “Jack”, of his city, to transport the Christmas tree to his son in his large pickup for a pittance of what any other company would have charged. “Jack” was going to South Carolina for his family holiday and earned a few bucks on the way and since no extra fuel was burnt for the delivery it paid up for the environment as well! So if you need to ship anything this Christmas give a try to peer to peer shipping, you might be surprised by its ease and economy. Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas to all!

Find Cheap and Reliable Transporters to Ship Your Household Items Today!

Moving home from Wyoming to Florida? It is an understandable that you are worried about shipping household items that are so much a part of your home. But there is a solution to every problem, just like this one. All your precious things – the vintage couch, your new fridge, the table you got from your mom-in law, the cooker you brought with your first salary, the good old dish washer – everything including your oversized freezer can be moved, within the US, efficiently and quickly by the household items shipping company.

These companies allow you to relax while they pack all your large household objects like the couch carefully in proper padded material. The fridge and the freezers can be packed separately in their respective boxes. Packing your TV and other appliances like the cooking ranges, microwaves, food processors and washing machines and dishwashers are best done in bubble wrap and then put in reinforced cartons provided by the movers for a nominal charge.

It is best to provide them one room in your place where they can do the entire packing; a good rule of thumb is to make that the room nearest to the door. However it is wise to remember to unplug and clean all your appliances like the fridge, the freezer, dishwasher and cooker. Make back-ups of your computer files, disconnect it and keep it prepared to be packed for the move.

It is important to note that while you should take addiitonal care packing jewelry, other precious heirlooms like silverware or chinaware, your hobby items and sports memorabilia; they will not allow you to pack and transport dangerous material like firearms and ammunition, paints, varnishes, thinners – in short anything that could catch fire or explode. While packing fragile items it is necessary to be extremely careful and not to cut corners – remember, one object at a time. Pack them yourself with old newspapers, blankets, pillow cases, sheets and above all with bubble wraps.

Remember to allow very little space inside the packing cases because if the objects could move around they would suffer heavily due to friction. Plates and other glass items should ideally be stored in a vertical position and not horizontally stacked. Always remember to allow the packers to inspect your packed material because some of them might need repacking into sturdier boxes for the sake of preserving them in transit. Although repacking usually attracts some charges, the boxes may be provided by the household goods movers for free if you agree to use old boxes. It is also very necessary to make a full inventory of goods before you load your household goods into the container. You can either prepare your own checklist or get a prescribed format from your household goods moving company.

Shipping household items can also be done along with your own vehicle too, if you have small and foldable or detachable furniture. You can also load some of the items in the trunk of the car or in the car itself. The economy of shipping household items can be greater if the goods are packed by you and if you follow the guidelines of the movers.

So you live in Florida and want refrigerator shipping from Oregon? You are worried that your precious little “cool” baby might get dented or wrecked on the way? Relax, because a little bit of online research would tell you that there are environmentally friendly shipping companies offering their services to people like you.

Shipping refrigerators is basically just like shipping any other large item. Before shipping you have to palletize or crate the refrigerator. Although it is far better to allow professional refrigerator shipping companies to do it for you, however if you wish to save, you can always opt to pack it yourself. Follow these 7 tips to ensure safe and reliable shipping of your refrigerator.

1. Huge discounts on shipping a refrigerator are available from environmentally friendly shipping companies which use long-distance trailers which have less than truck load (LTL) and are not quite full. But then again one of the shipping inefficiencies is that this way of refrigerator shipping leaves it vulnerable and uninsured. The delivery timeframe also can’t be ensured. Of course, when you use CitizenShipper you can insure your item, and also specify the pick-up and delivery times, but not all companies are so user-friendly.

2. Terminal to terminal freight services are also an option for refrigerator shipping. Essentially, your large shipping items are picked up from an airport, train station or bus terminal and delivered to the terminal or station at the destination where a receiver ultimately accepts it. The cost benefit of such shipping methods can sometimes be beaten by sustainable shipping companies, although the item may suffer damage due to rough handling.

3. Some online companies buy bulk shipping space on eco-friendly carriers at highly discounted rates and then rent the space for a slightly higher price; the difference becoming their profit. Shipping refrigerators through such companies provides superior discounts than you could get otherwise from these carbon footprint reducing companies. This also reduces a lot of shipping inefficiencies.

4. The variables that govern the rates for the shipping must be fully understood by you before you commit to refrigerator shipping. Any eco-friendly shipping company would guide you as to how you can get eco friendly wrapping and packing supplies. Alternatively, you can choose to go for professional packing. If however you intend to do the packing for refrigerator shipping yourself you can also go for the traditional “bubble wrap, then shrink wrap and using edge protector” way. The weight of the packed and crated item must also be determined.

5. The next step is to visit a shipment broking website for multiple quotes from environmentally friendly shipping companies. Fields that you would need to fill up before obtaining a quote would obviously include the weight of the item, the points of origin and destination for the shipping. Your choice would usually depend on who gives you the best price within your delivery time frame. A little background research on the environmentally friendly shipping company through consumer affairs website would give you an idea of their competence in handling refrigerator shipping.

6. Open a shipping account with the sustainable shipping company through their website or by phone. You will need to provide your credit card details along with your name and address. Some companies may ask for an advance. The pickup appointment for refrigerator shipping has to be made. Make sure that you have the phone number of the driver, further reducing shipping inefficiencies

7. If you don’t want to pay extra for the fork-lift to put the item on the truck, you need to have at least two strong men to help you lift the furniture into the truck. After that it becomes the responsibility of the shipping company.
